What will your
experience look like?
You’ll rotate through four key sectors at Vulcan: distribution, manufacturing/processing, internal sales and external sales where you will learn new skills, make meaningful contributions and build your credibility.
Throughout the programme, you’ll join a cohort of three other graduates for quarterly learning and meeting days, which include catch-ups, reflection and teamwork activities, and training days to complete short courses, such as sales or communication courses.

FIRST WEEK
Start your induction
at Vulcan
You’ll meet your leader, buddy, and mentor, visit our local sites, learn about health and safety, get familiar with our SOPs (standard operating procedures), and explore the core competencies that shape Vulcan.

FIRST 6 MONTHS
Get hands-on experience in our warehouse
Get hands-on warehouse experience
You’ll experience working in the warehouse, accompany our drivers on delivery runs, provide health and safety support, learn stock control, get training in specific SOPs, and have the opportunity to earn your forklift license.

6 TO 12 MONTHS
Step into manufacturing and processing
You’ll shadow different machine operators, get hands-on experience operating some machines yourself, and gain exposure to various workstations from packing to delivery.

12 TO 18 MONTHS
Build your internal
sales experience
You’ll complete the sales induction, continue to learn about our product range, understand pricing mechanisms, handle inbound and outbound customer calls, follow up on quotes, and take ownership of a customer set.

18 MONTHS TO 27 MONTHS
Develop customer-facing
sales skills
Head out on the road to meet our customers, learn and practice cold calling, make junior sales calls with new or existing customers to maintain and grow relationships.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet some of our leaders in person. It's your chance to learn more about Vulcan while we get to know you better.
Offer
Successful candidates will receive a conditional offer – and the exciting news that you’re about to join the team.
Pre-employment check
We’ll do the necessary background and reference checks while we get ready to welcome you on your first day.

Applications can be submitted via our careers website. Be sure to upload your CV and a short cover letter telling us why you want to join Vulcan.
The applications will open on the 15th of October and close on the 13th of November.
Final-year students or recent graduates (within the past year) with a qualification in business, operations, logistics or other related fields. You must have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand.
Our process includes a short application form, a digital interview, an in-person interview on one of our sites, and a final case study to assess your skills. It’s all about getting to know each other and we aim to make it fair and friendly.
The Sales and Operations Graduate Programme runs for 2.5 years, with rotations designed to provide breadth and depth across Vulcan’s business.
Yes, all roles are fully paid and come with competitive salary packages and benefits.
After the programme, you will start your permanent role in either an operations function or a sales function. With the potential of moving into leadership positions at a later stage.
Yes, you will be assigned a mentor and a buddy. Both will support as you enter, and across our Graduate Programme rotations for ongoing support.
Absolutely. You’ll get a mix of formal training, on-the-job coaching, and access to learning platforms.
We’ll run regular check-ins and involve you in business immersions to learn from all levels of the organisation.
