Joining the Vulcan Graduate Programme is simple and straightforward. Our process is designed to help us get to know you — your strengths, interests, and potential — while giving you a clear picture of what it’s like to work with us. Here’s what you can expect from start to finish.

Find your fit

Vulcan has 3 roles available for our 2025 Graduate intake.
We’re looking for curious, driven grads to join us in Data & Analytics, IT Operations, and Finance. You’ll get real responsibility from day one, working across teams and gaining practical experience that sets you up for a successful career.

Applications can be submitted via our careers website. Be sure to upload your CV, academic transcript, and a short cover letter telling us why you want to join Vulcan.

Applications open August 1st and close mid-September. Follow us on LinkedIn and check-out our three Graduate roles for specific dates related to each. 

Final-year students or recent graduates (within the past two years) with a Qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. You must have the right to work in New Zealand. 

Our process includes a short application form, online assessments, interviews, and an assessment centre or final panel. It’s all about getting to know each other and we aim to make it fair and friendly. 

The program runs for 24 months, with rotations designed to provide both breadth and depth across the business.

Yes, all roles are fully paid and come with competitive salary packages and benefits.

You’ll transition into the role you were originally hired for. However, if during the program you express a strong interest in a different path, we’ll take that into consideration as you near completion, with the aim of aligning your next steps with both your aspirations and business needs. 

Yes! Each graduate is paired with a mentor for career guidance and a buddy to help you settle in and navigate day-to-day life at Vulcan.

Absolutely. You’ll get a mix of formal training, on-the-job coaching, and access to learning platforms.

We’ll run regular check-ins and involve you in business immersions to learn from all levels of the organisation. 

Led by our Principles & Ethos We’re big on teamwork, practical problem-solving, and getting things done. People here are approachable, down-to-earth, and always willing to support each other.
